Pride and Prejudice – Jane Austen ****

Elizabeth Bennet..

I fiiiiinally finished Pride and Prejudice.
I think it took me three months.. But I did it, and I loved it.

When I started reading this book, I was in a terrible reading mood. I just couldn’t focus. Forcing yourself to read isn’t a good idea, let me tell you.. Eventually I just didn’t feel like reading anymore.

I’m telling you all of this because I want you to know that the book is amazing! This is a classic case of “It’s not you (the book in this case), it’s me..” I was the reason it took me so long. The book had nothing to do with it.

I’m guessing everyone knows the story.. Girl meets boy, boy is arrogant and proud, girl dislikes boy.. Stuff happens..

You probably saw the mini-series starring Colin Firth or the movie with Keira Knightley, so did I 😉 but as always.. The book is better. Yes, I hear you, I loved those screen adaptations too, but the original is even better.

Classics are classics for a reason.. Jane Austen is a true artist. The story is beautifully written. It builds slowly and ends in perfection.

I loved it!
Let’s just hope that finishing this book means I’ve escaped my literary depression.
