Mara Dyer believes life can’t get any stranger than waking up in a hospital with no memory of how she got there.
She believes there must be more to the accident she can’t remember that killed her friends and left her strangely unharmed.
She doesn’t believe that after everything she’s been through, she can fall in love.

First, I just want to say.. what an amazing title and what a beautiful cover. I knew I wanted to read this book the moment I saw someone hold it up on BookTube. I mean, isn’t that just beautiful??
There, it’s out.. I can calm down now..
I read this book in a day.. at first I didn’t know what to think. I just kind of liked it..
But as I continued reading I was drawn to Mara and the things that were happening to her.
It was creepy and funny at the same time. Creepy because well, what happened to her, ‘the accident’, that’s creepy.
I mean I don’t want to spoil anything but when I read how they found her, that was creepy.
Also, the mirror, the bath, the everything.. creepy. I couldn’t look in the mirror that night, I admit it. These kinds of things always get to me.
Let’s move on.. The story was also funny.
Jamie is funny, Noah is funny but most importantly Mara is funny. The dialogue was well written, the swearwords hilarious (Asscrown? The word itself is great but the explanation? You warm my heart, Mara.)
So all in all a really good book. Of course there was a big introduction and the story took a while before it really took off but it’s the first book in a series so I understand. There were some points where I was just ‘Okay, enough with the romance, get on with the story’ but it never actually annoyed me. I like a little romance from time to time ;).
Normally, I’ll be able to pick up the second book (The Evolution of Mara Dyer) today after work.
I’m really looking forward to it. I’ll keep you posted!!
