It’s actually been a couple of weeks since I finished The Evolution of Mara Dyer and reviewing it completely slipped my mind.
I know, shame on me!!
Just like The Unbecoming, I flew through this book. It took me a little more than a day to finish (with work and everything that’s not bad at all). I did really like it and it did leave me wanting more but I didn’t think it was spectacular. Just a really good book.
We keep on following Mara who has been labeled “unstable” and is trying very hard to act normal so she can stay with Noah.
There are also a lot of flashback/dreams/memories(?) and to be honest, I liked these parts best. The add an extra layer of mysteriousness to the story.
The twist was ok, not brilliant though. It was the logical way to go, as far as logic applies in a book about “unstable” people.
All in all I really enjoyed the story and I will definitely read the last book, The Retribution of Mara Dyer, somewhere during fall.
And yes, that last title totally makes sense now 😉
