Blogmas Day 6: Terrible colds and a mini DIY

I have felt it coming for the past week and today it hit me.. hard. Autumn and winter means colds for me.
This morning I woke up with a terrible headache, a blocked nose and a sore throat. My daughter had been sniffeling away for a couple of weeks so I knew it was only a matter of time before I caught it but it still sucks. Having to look after a toddler that’s not feeling well when you’re feeling like crap yourself is a nightmare. The husband has to work on Saturdays and he won’t be here tomorrow either, I’m really not looking forward to it to be honest. I wish I could just curl up on the couch or stay in bed all day but that’s obviously not an option..

I wanted to do a big bookish DIY today but I just couldn’t focus with this headache. So I only did a small Christmas tree ornament one.
If you have some old books (or any paper really) lying around, you should give it a go. It’s fun (when you’re not coughing your lungs out).

I found the DIY on this website and I thought it looked amazing.
I’m warning you now, mine doesn’t look half as good as the ones on the website..
Since they explain it so well on the website and I don’t want to just copy everything, I suggest you go and find the steps there. It’s only fair, I didn’t invent this..

Here is my finished piece..

I think it looks more like a flower then a snowflake but that’s just because I made my strips too bulky I guess..
Anyways, we always wait until after Sinterklaas (Saint Nicolas) to put up the Christmas tree, so maybe I’ll do that tomorrow.. if I’ll feel like it.. which I probably won’t. But when I do, I’ll hang my flower/snowflake int there as well.

If you try this DIY, send me some pictures, you’ll probably be better at this than me ;).
Sorry for the short and uninteresting blog today.. I’m hoping tomorrow will be a better day.
For now, I’m off to bed.
Sweet dreams!
