I’m on a bit of a Young Adult kick right now. In November I read The Raven Boys and Carry On, which I will be reviewing here during the next couple of days, and I thought I would let you know what I plan on reading this month.
I don’t usually make TBR lists because I’d rather pick out the books as I go and fit them to my mood so this list isn’t going to be very long.
Actually, I was hoping you could recommend me some books to read. Books you have really enjoyed, maybe some wintery, Christmassy reads?
At the moment I’m reading The Infernal Devices series by Cassandra Clare.
These books are 100% my cup of tea. Books with a main character who likes books? Uh, yes please!! I finished Clockwork Prince this morning and the moment I get home from my meeting I will start Clockwork Princess. These books are addicting to say the least. I just have to know how it ends, even though I know they will break my heart into a million tiny pieces and it will take me the rest of the month to glue them back together…
I know I’m rather late to jump on the Infernal Devices wagon but I don’t usually read a lot of Young Adult books. Since I’m enjoying it so much maybe I should explore the genre more often.
Let’s pretend for a moment that I won’t end up miserable and crying in a corner after finishing Clockwork Princess… What would I read next? Well..
Holly and Jen are doing a His Dark Materials readalong. I have never read the books because, to be honest, the Golden Compass movie really put me off. But I want to give them a go. If you’re interested in reading them too, why not read them now? You can use the hashtag #JenandHollyHDM to follow the discussion on Twitter.
And those are the only books I really planned to read in December. I have a lot of options after that. I could continue the Raven Cycle books. I started The Dream Thieves but it didn’t feel right, so I put it back down. I have Vicious by VE Schwab which I really want to read, I have Angelfall by Susan Ee or Uprooted by Naomi Novik. I could read The Secret History by Donna Tartt or The Moonstone by Wilkie Collins but I’m inclined to stick to YA for the moment.
What would you recommend?
See you soon!
