Blogmas Day 8: I’m a fangirl and proud of it!

When I start talking about the fandoms I love, people tend to look at me strangely. Most of the time they are probably thinking “here she goes again”. But I can’t help it. I love these things so very, very much.

I’m also a bad shipper, I fall for the bad guys and become obsessed with characters and story worlds.

Here are some of my favourites, showing you how incredibly flawed I am.

Mostly The Avengers/Thor. Okay, who am I kidding, I’m a total sucker for Loki… Up to the point where I think he should really have his own movie. I mean, nobody knows what happened in-between ‘Thor’ and ‘The Avengers’ and I’m not going to be satisfied with some short explanation. I want the whole story!

My fondness for Loki is directly linked to the actor who makes him so great. Tom Hiddleston doesn’t just want to be remembered for his role as Loki.. I say he doesn’t need to worry about that because everything he does is pure gold. He’s so talented, it’s a joy to watch him perform.
(P.S. I want him as the new James Bond, I’m going to be so pissed if they choose someone else. He’s the perfect fit and would bring back some balance to the movies. Now it’s just action, action, boom, explosion, oh someone died,… It doesn’t interest me anymore. What it needs, is charm. Ladies and gentleman, I give you.. Tom Hiddleston. He’s made of charm. Come on, make it happen!)

Harry Potter

Harry Potter is my youth. It taught me so many valuable lessons such as:
– Friends are the family you choose
– Don’t judge a book or person by its cover/looks
– Sometimes, bad stuff just happens
– There is no such thing as black or white, most people are grey

My favourite character? Draco Malfoy. Most people detest him, I found him interesting. My cousin and I are the same age and we read the books at the same time and while she was always Team Harry, I could help it, I always defended Draco, even from the very beginning.
This is also where the shipping comes in, I shipped Draco and Hermione. That would have been perfection! I understand why Hermione ended up with Ron and I’m not mad about it or anything. But just think about it for a minute. Draco and Hermione are both super smart. They could change the world together.
Draco needed someone to believe in him, to guide him from the darkness to the light. His family was caught up in all the death-eater business and so were all of his “friends” (come on, they were only with him for his name and his money). Things could have gone completely different for him if one of the golden trio had just tried to look through his defence system. If he had someone to talk to, somewhere to turn to when things became so bad that he had to take the Dark Mark and was charged with killing Dumbledore. I don’t know, is it okay for someone to suffer because they aren’t very nice? It seems like most people forgot what he went through…
At least, that’s my idea.. you’re most welcome to disagree. 🙂

Needless to say, I also really like Snape.

I will go down with this ship…

Doctor Who

Knock, knock
Who’s there?
The Doctor
Doctor Who?

I LOVE Doctor Who. I watched every episode since they relaunched it. I discovered the show when Ten regenerated into Eleven and started watching from there. (Netflix gave me the opportunity to watch the rest) Eleven is my favourite Doctor because he was my first. I loved his quirkiness and I loved his companions.. the Ponds. Don’t get me wrong, I think all the doctors have their own strengths. Nine brought back the series, Ten made me cry more times than I can remember (David Tennant is a-ma-zing!!) but Eleven stole my heart. I’m having some difficulties getting used to Twelve. Mostly because I dislike Clara. I don’t know why. Maybe it’s because she had to fill the emptiness the Ponds had left behind. Maybe it’s because her bubbly personality clashes with Twelve’s sulky attitude. I don’t know.. Still, Saturday’s season finale made me sob, luckily I was home alone ;).

So yes, I’m a fangirl, I’m in Loki’s army, I’m a potterhead and a whovian.
And you know what? I’m proud of it!

  1. I’m a fangirl and proud of it too!! Marvel, Harry Potter (Draco is a very underestimated character) and The Vampire Diaries. These 3 are like my ultimate. I officially have a shirt for each fandom and it only took about five years to do it! Lol

      1. Yay! At least somebody watches The Originals. I’ve found hardly anybody that watches it. 😦 TVD has gotten better. Even as Nina left the show, it’s still pretty good! Which surprised the crap out of me!

      2. It does sound weird, no Elena… Have you ever read the books? They are completely different (and very creepy). I read them until the original author died and someone else took over. Their writing styles were too different for me so I stopped.

      3. No I never read the actual books, although I have read the first two of Stefan’s Diaries. Those were good! I read 45 pages at a store once while my mom & sister were getting their nails done. Lol

Leave me your thoughts!!
