The Blogger Recognition Award

This morning I got the pleasant surprise of being nominated for this “Blogger Recognition Award”. I owe this nomination to Monique from That Wild Soul.
She’s a lovely book blogger from New Zealand. You should definitely check her blog out!

The rules:

  1. Write a post to show your award
  2. Give a brief story of how your blog started.
  3. Give a piece of advice or two to new bloggers.
  4. Thank whoever nominated you and provide a link to their blog.
  5. Select up to 10 other blogs you want to give the award to.

How my blog started.

I used to work at a bookstore (De Reyghere) in Bruges, Belgium. The thing I liked most about working there was talking to other booklovers, recommending them books I’d read and hearing which books they liked best. It’s been three years since I left the bookshop but my love for reading hasn’t changed. I started this blog to share my thoughts on the books I’ve read.

Advice to new (book) bloggers

I think the most important piece of advice I can give is “stay true to yourself”. If you only talk about things because everyone else is talking about them, you will lose your “self” and that would be a shame. Trust in your own ideas and share the things YOU like. I recently did a post on “read the books YOU want to read” because I was on the verge of losing my true self.

Blogs I nominate

These are blogs I really like for the honesty of the bloggers and the quality of their reviews. (and other blogposts such as tags and discussions)
